.543 nm in a unit cell, 1,000,000 nm=1mm,  543,000 nm in 1mm cube of salt.  our cube of salt .77mm.  therefore, 543nm*.7mm =380,100nm.  we now have to cube it to get the volume.  380,000^3 =5.49153314E 16

NaCl table salt model

Post 1: Describe 10 nm and a mole of atoms

10 nm is best understood by my as the lowest width of tobacco smoke.  The size of just one is impossible to see but it was understandable because a person could imagine this.

A mole of gold is about 196 grams just imagine that much gold is about .432 pounds with is close to about a mole of gold is about half a pound which is quite a bit of gold.  A mole of gold is worth about 6500 dollars so in terms of gold it is worth quite a chunk of change.
